Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor
Whether basking in the sun or cooling off in the water, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Oklahoma City is the place to be this summer. Visitors wanting to relax can take a ride on Castaway Creek, a slow-paced, winding river that runs through the park, or float aimlessly in Monsoon Bay Wave Pool. Visitors with small children can spend time with them in Barefootin' Bay, where kids can splash through fountains, climb on an octopus or submarine and go down small slides.
Formerly known as White Water Bay, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features rides that are fun for both kids and adults. The Big Kahuna takes four passengers on an exciting tube ride down a flume slide, and Keelhaul Falls transports riders from one shallow pool to the next. Keelhaul Falls is available on a limited schedule. Kids and adults alike can take part in activities within the Ship Wreck Island pool. There are challenging lily pads to cross, high rocks to jump from and two slides to keep visitors always on the move and having fun in the sun.
For those seeking a more exciting water adventure, water slides guarantee a fast, breathtaking plunge, and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features slides ranging from tame to extreme. On the tame side, the Bermuda Triangle features three different slides for tube riding, and the Pirate's Plunge sends riders through a flume slide. The more extreme slides at White Water Bay include the Acapulco Cliff Dive, a high-speed free-fall slide and the Mega-Wedgie, a 277-foot-long slide with a 64-foot free fall. Both are guaranteed to take your breath away.
When the time comes for a snack or lunch, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor offers food and drink options that allow visitors to refresh and refuel without leaving the park. With favorites such as pizza, hot dogs, pretzels and chicken strips offered, visitors have a great selection to choose from. Thirst from being out in the sun is easily quenched with a variety of ice-cold soft drinks. Souvenirs, sunscreen and other necessities can be found in the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor gift shops.
Special events are held throughout the summer and are open to the public, such as Dive-In Movies, where movies are shown in the park. Groups are welcome and accommodated with reservations. Season passes are available.
