Barnes-Stevenson House
The Barnes - Stevenson House is an extraordinary restored Victorian house complete with period furnishings in Idabel. Built in 1912 for Thomas Jefferson Barnes, the first County Judge of McCurtain County and his wife, Myrtle Luttrell Barnes, it now houses the local historical society. The home was purchased from the Barnes estate in the 1970s by Idabel native and world renowned artist, Harold Stevenson. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in November of 1979. Free tours are available by appointment.
