Local artist Tracy Beasley painted this historical mural on the walls of a thrift shop in Davis. This historical mural tells the story of Davis’ history through important landmarks and figures of this Oklahoma town. Beasley also painted Davis Mercantile, the Davis depot, a wagon train and a steam engine locomotive onto this historical mural.

Beasley particularly focused on depicting Nelson Chigley, a Chickasaw, whose grandson owned a field of goats just up the road from her parents’ residence while she was growing up.  Chigley served as a leading politician in the Chickasaw tribe and was one of the first people to settle in Davis. Take a look at this mural and spot Key Wolf, an OU football star and coach who Chigley adopted. Wolf is also the namesake of the high school’s sports teams, the Davis Wolves. Beasley also included Sam Davis, the town’s namesake, onto this mural along with his Dry Goods store.
