Riversport at the Boathouse District
Riversport at the Boathouse District is your passport to the most exciting adventures on the Oklahoma River. This exciting park includes the world’s tallest adventure course – the 80-foot SandRidge Sky Trail – the Riversport Rapids Whitewater Rafting & Kayaking Center, Sky Slide, Surf OKC, Ski OKC, Rumble Drop and the Sky Zip, a 700-foot zip line.
Younger visitors will enjoy the Sky Tykes mini sky trail, the Cloud Bounce and Kids Zip. You'll also find Riversport favorites like surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayak excursions, dragon boating and more. Day passes and special group pricing are available.
After your adventure, relax at Big Water Grill, an onsite restaurant with sandwiches, snacks, burgers and chicken wings. Big Water Grill also stocks high-point beer, wine and liquor, best enjoyed in the outdoor lounge area and fire pit for scenic views of the river.
Riversport also provides rowing and kayaking lessons for all ages. Start with an introductory class and work your way up to master your technique, or join a group paddling excursion. Kayak and paddleboat rentals are available daily on the Oklahoma River and Lake Overholser. Riversport also offers a variety of summer camps for kids ages eight to 15.
Open to everyone over eight years of age, kayaking is a fun way to get on the water, and Riversport kayakers enjoy some of the best water in the OKC metro area. Choose from Riversport Rapids Whitewater Rafting & Kayaking Center, an 11-acre aquatic facility that offers a 1,000 ft. channel for whitewater rafting and kayaking, or the 1,300 ft. channel that's suited for beginners.
Other kayaking options include downtown on the Oklahoma River and Lake Overholser. The Route 66 Boathouse, located on the east shore of Lake Overholser, is one of the best places to kayak in central Oklahoma. Quiet waterways are a great place to learn the basics, and just a short paddle away from the scenic Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, where visitors can enjoy kayaking on their own or with a group.
The Route 66 Boathouse offers hourly kayak and bike rentals; kayak rentals are also available at the Chesapeake Boathouse, located downtown on the Oklahoma River. Experienced paddlers will enjoy guided paddles, which include group excursions into the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge and Full Moon Paddles to watch the new moon. Riversport dragon boat rentals are great for large groups or family reunions.
If board sports are more your style, Riversport has options for you as well. Throw up a shaka while riding the endless waves on Surf OKC’s trampoline-like surface or opt for shredding the pow on Ski OKC’s artificial ski and snowboard slope. The simulator is even equipped with an inclination system, so beginners can practice their skills on blue runs while seasoned boarders tackle gnarly blacks.
Whether you’re a serious cyclist in training or are just biking for fun, grab your bike and enjoy exploring over 13 miles of trails around the Oklahoma River, three world-class mountain bike/BMX pump tracks or the scenic routes at the Route 66 Boathouse at Lake Overholser. The League of American Bicyclists awarded RiversportOKC a "Silver Bicycle Friendly Business" award for contributing to the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America.
