Canadian Rivers Historical Museum
The Canadian Rivers Historical Museum in Geary is a true gem with unique displays like a Rock Island caboose and the area's first log jail, which was used prior to 1909. Additional displays include themed rooms like a bank, post office, doctor and dentist office, barber shop, country school and a turn-of-the-century kitchen. All ages will enjoy the exhibits at this free museum. Displays include war items, Native American artifacts, antique sewing machines and vintage clothing, a 45-star flag, farm tools and wagon.
The Canadian Rivers Historical Museum is housed in a unique 1903 building that was built as the Bank of Commerce, the oldest bank in Blaine County. It later became known as the American State Bank, but failed during the Great Depression. Today, the Gillespie Building housing the museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
