Continuing a centuries-old tradition of traveling education groups in the 19th and early 20th century United States, Lawton Chautauqua presents "Lift Every Voice: 60 Years Since the Civil Rights Act." Make sure to join this year's Chautauqua to see a variety of historical enactments, workshops, informal discussions and book reviews. Each evening, a different scholar gives a presentation in character followed by a Q&A session with the audience, first in character, then as a scholar. This year's Chautauqua characters include Earl Warren, Rosa Parks, Lady Bird Johnson, Thurgood Marshall and Coretta Scott King.
