Route 66 Park
Route 66 Park
Route 66 Park sits along the shores of Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City. This 148-acre park celebrates historic Route 66 while providing a place for families to enjoy outdoor activities. The park features three ponds with wetland boardwalks, bridges and interpretive signage, as well as approximately one mile of walking trails. Kids will have hours of fun as they climb and play in the park's playground, the largest in the city. Make your way to the top of the Cyrus Avery Observation Tower for a bird's-eye view of the park, then check out Route 66 Plaza, where an oversized map traces the eight-state expanse of Route 66, from Illinois to California. Bring your skateboard or rollerblades and try out the Route 66 Skate Court, designed for beginner or intermediate skaters. Route 66 Park also offers an amphitheater and a picnic shelter.
