Get ready to dance the night away when Asleep at the Wheel brings their signature Texas swing to the Tower Theatre in OKC. For 50 years, this Austin-based band has been thrilling audiences with their neo-traditional country and Western Swing. From their first gig opening for Alice Cooper in 1970 to recognition in Rolling Stone magazine by Van Morrrison, this hard-touring big band has remained true to its original mission: carrying the torch of Western Swing, or what band leader Ray Benson refers to as "jazz with a cowboy hat." Good luck staying in your seat once the Texas Twin Fiddles and Boogie Piano get the joint to swinging.
