Keystone Lake
Explore 54,320 acres of nature while visiting Keystone Lake, a Corps of Engineers-operated lake located on the Arkansas River. Nestled between sandstone bluffs and sandy beaches, at normal elevation, Keystone Lake offers 23,600 acres of recreational fun, coupled with 330 miles of shoreline. Named for the community of Keystone, the area functioned as a post office from 1900 until 1962, when it was inundated by the waters of the lake. Today, Keystone Lake consists of 16 recreation areas with a variety of accommodations ranging from group campsites and shelters to furnished cabins, full and partial hook-ups, and tent sites.
With its beautiful view of the lake, the Two Rivers of the Four Winds Conference Center, located in Keystone State Park, offers a beautiful setting for weddings, reunions and meetings. At this lake near Sand Springs, guests can take advantage of outdoor adventure opportunities found in two all-terrain vehicle areas, a mountain bike-only trail system, numerous swimming areas, three alcohol-free beaches, three marinas and 23 boat ramps. Keystone Lake also features three nature trails, a river overlook and thousands of acres of public hunting and fishing opportunities.
Many public-use areas have gentle shorelines and there are a number of courtesy docks as well. A newly-constructed 1,000 ft berm with wheelchair access is located on the north side of the tailwater below the Corps of Engineers' office. The south shoreline of the spillway has a 500 ft berm with wheelchair access.
At Keystone Lake, anglers will enjoy great fishing opportunities for white and black bass, crappie and catfish, while hunters can spend a day tracking down squirrel, rabbit, quail, dove and waterfowl in the Keystone Public Hunting Area. Covering approximately 15,500 acres, the hunting area lies along much of the shoreline and features bottomland timber and post oak, blackjack and prairie fields. Additional facilities include drinking water, group shelters, restrooms, showers, electric outlets, playgrounds and cabins at the adjacent Keystone State Park.
