Shortgrass Playhouse puts on three community theater productions a year. Between shows, however, guests may scope out this supposedly haunted Hobart theater in the hopes of meeting Charlie, the mischievous little boy ghost. Stop by the onsite headstone for Charles D. Savage before checking out the spine-tingling humanlike spot on the wall. Throughout its history, this 1912 building has functioned as a city hall, funeral home and fire department. Some surmise that childlike ghosts may have lingered after the Babbs Switch schoolhouse fire victims ended up at Shortgrass Playhouse back in its funeral home days.
