Eagle View Trail, located on the eastern shores of Kaw Lake near Ponca City, is a great way to experience views of the lake while exploring the surrounding area. This trail, which is approximately 12 miles in length, allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature.
The trailhead for Eagle View Trail is located near Osage Cove. Generally considered intermediate-level, this one-way trail ends up at Burbank Landing. Starting at the trailhead, you'll go north for almost a mile, then you are close to the shoreline and the lake will be visible. The trail then veers to the northeast and basically follows the shoreline the rest of the way, meandering along wide peninsulas and inlets. You will cross a shallow stream on the trail not far from the trailhead. Most of the terrain along Eagle View Trail is flat, and the trail will take you through wooded areas as well as open fields. Check out the rocky outcroppings near the Kaw Lake shores, which are ideal places to take in the picturesque views.
