There are several great reasons to use the natural beauty of the outdoors as your backdrop. Whether it’s rolling hills, forested valleys, shimmering lakes or cascading waterfalls, the natural surroundings can create a visually stunning and romantic atmosphere.
With these perks in mind — not to mention the stunning photos you’ll get in natural light — take a look at some of the top wedding destinations in Oklahoma’s state parks.
Northeast Oklahoma
Sequoyah State Park
Sequoyah State Park is a haven for water lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Nestled on the banks of Fort Gibson Lake, this park offers hiking, picnicking, guided horseback trail rides, wildlife watching, nature center activities, golf, fishing and camping.
Venue options:
Located along the shores of Fort Gibson Lake, Sequoyah State Park is home to the largest state park lodging facility, which means there are plenty of options for weddings big and small. Outdoor ceremonies can be held at The Point, which is available to book a year in advance. The Point offers a scenic view of the lake and can be accessed via a cement sidewalk.
Those looking for a large, indoor wedding should check out Sequoyah Hall. Located within Sequoyah State Park Lodge, Sequoyah Hall is a 100+ person banquet hall, which is available to book 60 days in advance for weddings. Sunday weddings in Sequoyah Hall can be booked six months in advance.
Cedar is the perfect indoor reception area for a small ceremony or outdoor weddings up to 100 guests. Cedar can be booked up to six months in advance. For intimate ceremonies and elopements, there are smaller event rooms, as well as outdoor pavilions, that can be booked through the park office.
Overnight lodging options:
The Lodge at Sequoyah State Park offers 104 renovated guest rooms and 45 cottages.
More details:
Parking for the event is included in the cost of the reservation. At least 24 hours before the event, a list of license plates for those attending any event must be supplied. All attendees shall park in the lodge parking area. If a license plate is not provided prior to the event, such individuals responsible for the vehicle will, upon arrival, check in and register any license plates with the front desk. Failure to properly register their vehicle with the lodge may result in parking violations that will be the responsibility of the individual responsible for the vehicle.

Natural Falls State Park
Natural Falls State Park is located near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border in the scenic Ozark Highlands region of northeast Oklahoma. The crowning jewel of this park is its incredible 77-foot waterfall, which cascades down a rock cliff into a serene pool below. Two main venues are offered for those looking to tie-the-knot at Natural Falls.
Venue options:
The first option is the Red Fern Reunion Center. This indoor facility offers tables and chairs for up to 50 people, and there is also an on-site prep kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. Tables include two 8’ x 30” serving tables, seven 4’ round tables and one 3’ round table. An outdoor concrete patio area is also offered, which contains three patio tables, 12 chairs and a bench.
The second option at Natural Falls is the outdoor shelter, which is located close to the waterfall and offers electricity and lights. Many couples choose to hold the ceremony at the outdoor shelter and the reception at the reunion center.
Unfortunately, private weddings cannot be held at the falls since they remain open to the public at all times.
Overnight lodging options:
Numerous campsites and five yurts, which are circular, tent-like structures, are available. Each yurt sleeps between four and six people.
More details:
A deposit is required to rent the reunion center, and it will be returned if the center is cleaned to the park staff’s standards. A total of 10 parking passes are included with the rental of the Red Fern Reunion Center or the outdoor shelter.
Keystone State Park
Located on picturesque Keystone Lake, Keystone State Park is a peaceful oasis with plentiful camping, hiking and boating. A children’s fishing pond, seasonal marina and nearby off-roading area means this park has something for everyone.
Venue options:
Keystone State Park’s community building is a great indoor wedding destination. In addition to the great view of Keystone Dam through the building’s giant glass windows, it also boasts a full kitchen, restroom facilities, tables and chairs for up to 120 guests.
There is also an outdoor space behind the community building where guests can hold a small wedding. However, the area is sloped, so it is not ideal for tables and chairs.
Overnight lodging options:
Keystone State Park offers 22 cabins. Each offers a microwave, refrigerator, stove, satellite television and fireplace. After the wedding, newlyweds will love an overnight stay at the Hilltop or Paradise cottages. These romantic cabins offer Jacuzzi tubs and roaring fireplaces. As an added bonus, guests of the Paradise Cottage will find a trail that leads through a densely wooded area and down to a gorgeous view Keystone Lake.
More details:
The building can be booked up to 11 months in advance. One parking pass is included with the reservation, but guests will not need a parking pass to park in the community building parking area if they are coming for events there. If they choose to enjoy any of the park amenities, they would need to purchase a parking pass to be covered outside of the community building area of the park.
If you book 10 cabins, the community building is available for free during your stay. For instance, if you have 10 cabins booked for Friday through Sunday, you would get the community building for two days because you have the cabins booked for two nights.
