Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center
Medicine Park Aquarium & Natural Sciences Center
Bring the whole family to Medicine Park for a fun and educational experience. The mission of the Medicine Park Aquarium & Nature Sciences Center is conservation through education – bringing people, nature and science together in a fun and interactive experience. This unique eco-tourism attraction has over 90 native and non-native fish, reptile, amphibian, bird and mammal species on exhibit.
Check out the Quail Encounter exhibit, featuring a walk-through aviary housing northern bobwhite quail. Meet two lively otters named Sam and Dean at the River Otter Habitat, or feed the turtles in Turtle Town. Interact with marine creatures in the tide pool and touch tank and take a selfie with Moby, the largest blue catfish in captivity. On Mondays, watch piranhas, paddlefish and archerfish experience enrichment. Electric eel demonstrations are Tuesday-Sunday at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Join the Wildlife Discovery Program and interactive Critter Chats led by biologists daily.
The center also includes a seven-acre botanical garden featuring many plants native to the area. With a spectacular view of Mount Scott, the center sits less than a mile from the entrance of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
