Often called the "crown jewel" of northeast Oklahoma, the four-county region surrounding Grand Lake offers limitless wonderment. Home to water, wildlife, rolling hillsides, mighty oaks and tall pines, it's an area to visit for a few days or enjoy for a lifetime. Activities range from golf and all types of water sports to some of the best motorcycle roads, an outstanding fishery and outdoor hunting paradise. The lake, which lies in a southwest to northeast direction, is popular with sailboat enthusiasts wishing to take advantage of the prevailing wind. Normal surface elevation is 742 feet above sea level.
