Okie Noodling Tournament
Okie Noodling Tournament
Bring your lawn chair to Wacker Park in Pauls Valley and celebrate the sport of noodling at the world-famous Okie Noodling Tournament. Noodling is the practice of fishing for catfish with only your bare hands. See what all the fuss is about at this one-of-a-kind event that includes food vendors, live music, children's activities and more.
Contestants will scour area rivers and lakes using their hands to wrangle the biggest catfish in the state and haul them back to the festival to be weighed and ranked. Some of these fish clock in at more than 70 pounds and can create a serious spectacle. See huge live flathead catfish brought in to compete for bragging rights and prizes in categories including big fish, top female and 18 and under.
The Okie Noodling Tournament is a great event for the whole family, featuring food and beer vendors, live music, a kids' noodling clinic, a catfish cook-off and kids' catfish-eating contest. Face painting, inflatables and games will also be available. Don't miss the final weigh-in to see the biggest catfish of all, and stick around for the coronation of the Okie Noodling Queen. Try your hand at noodling in the festival’s popular catfish tank, or just sit back and take in the sights at this colorful and eclectic celebration.
