Beaver Dunes Park
Beaver Dunes Park
Beaver Dunes Park, located in the sandy panhandle city of Beaver, offers 520-acres of dune buggy riding on 300 acres of sand hills, as well as fishing, hiking trails, a playground and two campgrounds.
Inside the park, the Hackberry Bend Campground rests next to Beaver Lake, a two-acre lake stocked with perch, channel cat and largemouth bass. Lucky campers may even spot deer, possum or herons nestled among the cottonwoods and sandplums on the rolling sand hills. The campground also offers seven sites with water and electric hookups, as well as 10 tent sites. Guests can also reserve a one room, primitive cabin that sleeps four.
The Pioneer Campground inside Beaver Dunes Park is located adjacent to the off-road vehicle area and has direct access to the dunes. This campground features 13 campsites with water and electric hookups. Both campgrounds have a handicap accessible comfort station with hot showers. An on-site dump station is also available for your convenience.
After a long day on the dunes, head over to the Big Sandy picnic area for a sand volleyball court, basketball goal, horseshoe pits, playground, two reservable picnic shelters and the one mile long Pioneer Interpretive Trail, which is appropriate for hikers of all skill levels.
Centrally located between Amarillo (160 miles), Wichita (211 miles) and Oklahoma City (230 miles), this park will satisfy all your camping needs.
