Capital Cruise – Tulsa

Start your morning by watching Tulsa make history at Capital Cruise. Inspired by Mother Road nostalgia, this massive event is an official Guinness World Record attempt for the largest classic car parade ever. The cars will roll out at 8am and include a variety of vehicles made in 1996 or earlier, from vintage muscle cars to family treasures on four wheels.

After staging at the Tulsa Expo Square, cars will travel to the start of the spectator route at 11th St & Yale Ave. The parade will cruise down 11th St (Historic Route 66), offering several high-visibility zones for spectators. The monumental parade of thousands of cars will travel over five miles within Tulsa city limits. In addition to history-making, guests can enjoy live music, food trucks, shopping vendors and plenty of Route 66 festivities.

Proceed to the Route – Sapulpa

Keep the party going after Capital Cruise in Tulsa and head down Route 66 to Sapulpa's Proceed to the Route event. This community festival will be held along Dewey Ave in downtown Sapulpa, often called the "Heart of Route 66." Browse local art, enjoy live music, sample tasty food and shop all along Sapulpa's walkable, beautifully preserved downtown district.

While you're in town, be sure to visit the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum to see vintage cars and classic motorcycles. This popular Route 66 destination features plenty of Mother Road memorabilia and is the proud owner of the world's tallest gas pump.

Kickin' It on 66 – Oklahoma City

For an all-day bash, celebrate the centennial year of Route 66 in Oklahoma City at Kickin' It on 66. Held from sunrise to sunset, this festival in Scissortail Park will feature a farmers market, kayaks, pedal boats and roller skating at the park's Sky Rink. Visitors will definitely want to check out the Route 66 Travel Hub to discover weekend trip ideas, hidden gems and historic stops along the Mother Road.

Stick around for an evening of live music featuring Oklahoma-born artists Kaitlin Butts, Ricochet, Bailey Rae and OK3. The evening will conclude with the jaw-dropping Neon Lights Drone Show that will transform the sky over Scissortail Park into a dazzling canvas accompanied by a soundtrack inspired by the Mother Road. You won't want to miss this bold finale to an unforgettable celebration.
