Step back in time this June at the Lawton Chautauqua, an Oklahoma tradition which brings history to life with a variety of in-character performances, workshops and discussions.

In honor of America’s semiquincentennial anniversary, the theme for this year’s Lawton Chautauqua is “250 Years: The Spirit of America.” Watch scholars and actors as they portray influential figures from America’s past in full costume, including frontiersman William Clark, activist Sojourner Truth, writer Washington Irving, former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and entertainment icon Lucille Ball. After the performances, stay for insightful conversations and Q&A sessions that illuminate the people and moments that helped shape our country.
