Asian District Cultural & Culinary Tour
Embark on a unique cultural and culinary tour of Oklahoma City's Asian District this November alongside the Asian District Cultural Association's President Mike Hoang and special guest Michael To. From bánh mì sandwiches and phở to an assortment of Chinese dim sum, participants will enjoy the district's flavorful food, friendly people and diverse history. All food on this tour is included with registration.
The day begins at Lee's Sandwiches, where guests will tour the facility and learn about the background of South East Asian food, while sampling bánh mì, Vietnamese coffee, Thai tea and other Lee's items. You can also learn how to build your own spring roll.
The journey continues at Military Park for a general overview of the Asian District. Guests will learn about the area's cultural significance, including why Oklahoma City is home to one of the largest Vietnamese populations per capita in the United States.
Guests will also have a chance to enjoy dim sum at Golden Phoenix and signature Vietnamese dishes at VII Asian Bistro, where participants will learn about the cultural background of phở and other Southeast Asian food. This event wraps up with a Q/A with Hoang and To about Asian culture over lunch.
