Catch a glimpse of America's tableware during the make-do era of the first half of the 20th Century. The Fred & Addie Drummond Home will serve up the "Hammered Aluminum Ware" Exhibit from April 2 through April 30. This collection includes salad dishes, cookie trays, and pitchers with matching tumblers, all made during the early 1900s through the 1950s. During this time, many homemakers used the cheaper and lighter material for card games, birthday celebrations, church events, and monthly coffee socials. Hammered aluminum became a popular alternative while other metals were in short supply during World War I and World War II.
