American Banjo Museum

For a unique look into music history, tour the American Banjo Museum and see the largest public collection of banjos in the world spread across 21,000-sq ft of exhibits. Guests will learn everything about the banjo’s African beginnings and its gradual cultural shifts, as well as its transition into a staple instrument of today’s bluegrass, folk, jazz and world music genres. The museum also features special rotating exhibits, such as “The Banjo World of Steve Martin” and “Women of the Banjo.” Take your time examining sheet music, memorabilia, recordings and 400 ornate instruments on display as you fully immerse yourself into the banjo world.

Centennial Land Run Monument

Time travel back to the Land Run of 1889 when viewing the Centennial Land Run Monument by foot or during a water taxi tour. These commemorative sculptures, created by fifth generation Oklahoman Paul Moore, immortalizes the chaotic energy during the settling of Oklahoma Territory’s Unassigned Lands. Grab a photo of these 45 bronze horses, riders, families, pets and their belongings as they embark on their journey to claim a new homestead.

Oklahoma! Bricktown Mural

Continue brushing up on your Oklahoma history with a walk along the Oklahoma! Bricktown Mural on E.K. Gaylord Boulevard. This four-block masterpiece was painted by Dr. Bob Palmer and his students from the University of Central Oklahoma in celebration of the Sooner State’s Centennial in 2007. Elements throughout the mural are inspired by Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical “Oklahoma!” and represent state emblems like the state wildflower and depict a rough timeline of early Oklahoma to present day.

Summit OKC Silos & This Land Mural

Undergo a climbing adventure like no other at Summit OKC Silos. Rock climbers of all skill levels are invited to scale the converted grain silos on the 140-ft indoor, climate-controlled routes or outside along the massive 90-ft “This Land” mural. Sports fans will love the action-packed thrills housed within the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Visitors and residents alike can cheer on the Oklahoma City Comets as they compete on their home turf – one of the top Triple-A ballparks in the nation.
